Hi creatures. My name is Ambystoman (or just Amby). I make art and games. I specialize in 3D low poly stuff and animation but I also love to draw. All my work centers on critters, especially those that need more love and attention, such as reptiles, amphibians, avians, arthropods, arachnids, fish, mollusks, and other invertebrates. I do this to hopefully bring awareness to them. I adore reptiles and amphibians the most and Axolotls are my favorite animals ever. Dinosaurs and dragons are awesome too.
My designs and characters are my pride.
I collect CDs and like old tech but I'm not really an expert when it comes to lots of technical things but I very much find them interesting and cool to see. I also enjoy animated movies and such greatly. Especially if they have creatures I like. My favorite movie ever is Treasure Planet.
My tastes are very particular and I will often only care about things that feature those animals who I like. Bonus points if they're important characters.
Making video games is my passion, although i don't play many games anymore. My favorite has always been Cave Story but I also like Rain World, GMod, PvZ, Katamari, Stanley Parable, Pizza Tower, TF2, classic 3D Zelda, among other disjointed genres. I have made a couple games before but not many and I am currently working on Dragon March, a game that plays kind of like Snake but with a lot more to it.
This is my first time in a forum actually, but I'm happy to be here. Good to meet y'all.
Out from space, a Salamander
Re: Out from space, a Salamander
Well I just aged about 60 years.
Forums are a bit quiet these days, since most activity's gathered in Reddits and Twitters. But I sort of hinged on that as letting forums be places to run away from the noise and have some public archive, especially if treating it like interactive dev logs or stuff.
For the random observer, I can also vouch for Dragon March. I'm looking forward to crashing into the friends I collect along the way and dying with them panicking around me.
I intend to stream Rain World some year, but that's a ways off. Mostly so Gold and now Argil can laugh at me. Cave Story I hadn't played in years but remember I got 5:30 when running Hell or something like that as my shortest time.

Well hey there! And couldn't agree more, love the unloved and reptiles always need more of it as they're so often not given the positive attention they deserver...!
Aw heck yeah Rain World is such a good time! ...Well when it's not making me upset anyway... Hah!
Some very great games overall though! Wishing you well on your game projects and hoping to see more about 'em sometime!

I have heard good things about Treasure Planet and have been meaning to see it but alas, have not yet... Rain World though, that's a pretty heckin good game!
But more importantly, hell yeah, giving those odd critters the attention they deserve... I think I've heard of the Dragon March name once or twice in passing, hoping you get it to where you want and I'll keep an eye out for it!

It's the same thing with me with movies. As soon as there's an important animal character in a movie, my interest in the movie goes higher! Especially if it's the main character.
Also heck yeah Treasure Planet! I'll be honest I never saw it when I was little, but watching it later I really appreciate that movie! Such a cool setting and awesome story! Animation is also fantastic.
Your game looks really cool btw! Gonna try out the demo

I meant to say like this is my first time using and interacting in one lol. I've browsed through many before. I'm still learning how to use it

So true!! I've been doing this for some years now. It's my dream to make people care about them. I'm so happy to find others who feel this way. It's disheartening to witness so much unreasonable dislike towards these poor critters.Goldquiver wrote: Tue Feb 10, 2026 4:46 am But more importantly, hell yeah, giving those odd critters the attention they deserve...
I really hope you enjoy and have fun!
Good to meet you all, this place looks very chill.
